Frequently Asked Questions

What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?

CBD is a natural botanical compound and one of the many cannabanoids found in the hemp plant.

How does CBD work:

Cannabinoids, including CBD, interact with your body’s endocannabinoid system (or ECS).

The ECS is a system of receptors found in all mammals. These receptors are located in the brain and the nervous system throughout the body.

Numerous studies have shown the ECS to be directly involved with the processes that regulate our bodies every day, including relaxation, eating, digestion, sleeping, nerve signaling, metabolism, pain sensation, immune system, mood, memory, cognitive functions, inflammation control and overall homeostasis.

Overall, clinical research shows that the ECS is largely responsible for managing the body’s natural condition of balance and CBD has been found to interact with the ECS in a variety of therapeutic ways.

What is the difference between cannabis, hemp and marijuana?

All are different terms for the cannabis plant. However, colloquially, "hemp" or "industrial hemp" is used for cannabis plants that contain less than 0.3% THC (the psychoactive cannabanoid); and marijuana is a term used to refer to cannabis that contains high amounts of THC, sometimes around 25%.

Are CBD products legal?

Technically speaking, it depends on the product. Since AnnaFarma's CBD products are all hemp-based and only contain trace amounts of THC, our products are non-psychoactive and 100% legal in all 50 states.

Do CBD products contain THC and will I get high from them?

Again, technically speaking, it depends on the product. Several studies have tested CBD products and shown them to contain substantially more THC than advertised (and often less CBD). If a product truly contains trace amounts of THC, like AnnaFarma's CBD products, then it is completely non-psychoactive and will not make you high.

Will I fail a drug test if i take CBD products?

Most drug tests screen for THC. Our products contain almost untraceable amounts of THC. However, we recommend discussing with whomever may be testing you prior to using any hemp-derived CBD products.

Is it safe to take CBD with the medicine or supplements that I use?

There are no known adverse reactions from taking high-quality CBD products, but please consult with your doctor or health care provider for any questions about the safety of our product for you. If you use prescription medications or supplements or have health concerns, check with a health care provider to make sure that our CBD products will be safe for your use. Please have your health care provider contact us with any questions they might have about our product prior to making a recommendation.

What is "full-spectrum" CBD?

Full-spectrum means that the CBD product is an extract of all cannabanoids founds in the hemp plant, including CBN (Cannabinol), CBG (Cannabigerol), and THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin), to name a few.

All of AnnaFarma's CBD products contain full-spectrum CBD and the general consensus is that full-spectrum CBD has greater healing properties than CBD in its isolated form. This is because of a phenomenon discovered in several clinical studies called "entourage effect", where the therapeutic effectiveness of CBD increases while present along with the other cannabanoids found in the hemp plant.

What is "supercritical CO2 extraction"?

Supercritical CO2 is the method by which we extract the full-spectrum organic CBD concentrate used in our products from the hemp plant.

The cheaper alternatives used by many of our competitors involve using toxic solvents like propane, hexane, pentane and butane. These are compounds that people should not consume, especially if they are ill!
